   Welcome to my website!

Wholeness and wellness embody the resiliency to survive when life is painful and disappointing and to be able to enjoy life physically, emotionally and spiritually.

I am an experienced licensed therapist with a private practice in Columbia, Missouri.  I specialize in helping individual adults, ages 18 and over, who want to enhance personal growth and potential in areas of emotional, physical and spiritual well-being or who are experiencing difficulties due to transition, loss, stress, anxiety or depression.

I work together with individuals to identify areas they want to improve. Together we develop a plan to achieve these goals through the use of techniques that best fit the needs and issues of the individual.

My practice provides a safe, comfortable and calming space for healing and exploring options for change.

My approach to therapy integrates the wisdom of proven treatment methods that promote insight, self-awareness and self-acceptance.

Some of these include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (techniques to actively change thoughts and/or behavior)
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapies (teach techniques that encourage well-being and the reduction of suffering)
  • Journaling  (a technique that offers an opportunity to explore feelings, thoughts and events in a person’s life)
  • Walking/Talking Therapy  (There is documentation of benefits of walking.  This technique offers the opportunity to choose to walk while talking about therapy issues.  My office, close to the Katy Trail, offers a ‘green’ walking space.  I reserve the right to decline walking/talking therapy based on weather conditions, mental health or physical health issues or other potential safety factors.)

I offer a Mindful Eating Program that can be taken individually face to face, on-line or in a group setting. This program addresses eating patterns, thoughts, feelings and relationship with food.  It also examines the far-reaching effects of our food choices individually and on our environment.
